Dear blog. I am at home. The weather has eased a bit. I’ve been battling this flu virus for the last week or so. I’m finally getting the best of it. Well, I needed an outlet so decided to write.

Last few days I’ve been pretty much locked up in my apartment. Phone off. Offline. My boss Peter (the drummer of our band) gave me a few days sick leave to rest and gear up for intense rehearsals which continue tomorrow (or later today since the day just changed 40 minutes ago). heheh…it’s nice to have a little break although I’ve mostly been blowing my nose while lying on my back in bed (not at the same time of course!!) and in between sneezes have managed to read a few books. one was Dr.Jekyll and Hide which I didn’t like. The other one was “the Wizard of Oz” which I really, really loved. I did some research and discovered that this was only one out of 14 books written about Dorothy, Scarecrow, and all the other characters and places. I feel like I have new friends! My favorite is TOTO!! I love dogs. I want one. But now…first I gotta feed and train myself 🙂 Anyways,..This is a fairy tale that has totally passed by me in my life. Well, I let it pass. Now, I feel like moving to a desolate cabin in the mountains and reading all the other books…I’m sure I will do that one day.

Today I also watched quite a film. It’s a french film from 1964 called Les parapluies de Cherbourg by Jacques Demy. I was blown away! Wow, what a movie. I can’t remember a film that has moved me so much…at least since watching Amelie a few months ago. I’m very much into french cinema and I will be definitely watching more. It was sad however…unlike Hollywood movies, french films don’t always have a happy ending. But then again, I don’t think “happy ending” is an accurate statement on all hollywood movies. E.g. Titanic (which I loved and still do) doesn’t really have a happy ending…well, depends how you think about it. I just want an ending that moves me. I don’t mind happy. That goes for all art. If it moves me, I like it. That’s all that matters. i don’t care if it’s good or bad or what kind it is.

I also wrote my first song of the year just a while ago. I think it’s one of my best…I’ll have to play it to Peter tomorrow and if he likes it, it goes in the “maybe for future Awe material” pile and if he doesn’t, then the “future solo album material” pile. Simple as that. I don’t want to play anything with Awe that he doesn’t like. Peter only plays songs that he likes himself which is something I highly respect of him.

I’ve been playing a lot of guitar lately and my playing has taken some huge steps forward. I plan to become a guitar virtuoso one day. I think I am getting there…I was just watching a live dvd of Tommy Emmanuel (whose style I have been integrating a bit into my own in the last years…) and my inspiration tank is once again full. He is such a great musician and I actually think he is also a really good songwriter also.

Well, I better hit the sack. It’s almost 1 am although I really feel like playing guitar all the way through the night but gotta think ahead.

You know blog, life is good. No, it’s bad!! but in a good way, hahaaa. Bad to the bone. There’s just one little piece missing and yes she knows.

PS. I became a member of the Vegan Society of Finland today. I still have some meat left in my fridge. After i’m done eating it all, it’s goodbye meat and no this is not an experiment. I am no longer just doing it for health reasons. I love animals and I don’t want to eat them anymore then I want to eat people. For me, animals/people are equal. People are animals. Maybe you don’t agree with me BLOG but that’s the way I feel. If I do eat meat, I want to hunt it and kill it myself. Maybe one day I will. Maybe i’ll need to…especially when I’m living in that desolate cabin in the middle of…Oz!! heheh… That’s the only way. Oh and I also quit drinking on New Year’s (did I mention that?). For good this time. It’s not a break. I realized that I don’t like it and I don’t like the way it makes me feel or act. I don’t need it. Period. It gives me great courage to finally be so clear on something. I like myself just when I’m completely myself.
