Markus Nylund is a Finnish poet, musician, and performer based in Helsinki. His work explores the tension between purity and hedonism, order and chaos, failure and success—bridging mythic storytelling with raw, primal songwriting.
This site is an archive of writings and fragments spanning from 2007 to 2025, including his decade long “wilderness years” following a turbulent exit from London in 2016. It also features work under Vicevoids, an experimental art rock project blending electronic and traditional styles into a fever-dream sonic wonderland, culminating in the 2025 release Alien King.

I hope nobody ever reads any of this shit! At the same time I want all the adoration, validation, recognition, assassination that this world has to offer. Perhaps that is what being an artist is all about; whoring my attention to the cheapest bidder. The poet attempts to say things that cannot and perhaps shall not be said. To hide in the spotlight and disappear into the noise, the color, the shadows, the ether... until there is nothing left of me but you.
