book CHAPTER 2

Facebook sucks when you have no real friends. Or when you do but not really. Or when you dont really know the people you know. Or feel that they dont get you at all.

You start a profile. Add some people you think you might know. You snap a decent photo of yourself, edit it and then upload it. You try to be clever with your little description of who you are and what you do. This is your chance to shine!

You dont fill in much of your profile because you want to give the impression that you dont really have much time for facebook because you have a REAL life out there somewhere in the real world (whatever that means).

Some people send you messages. How have you been. I thought you are not on facebook. Etc. Etc.

Some people are done with your facebook games and shenanigans. The constant disappearing and sabotaging of all this connection. All those great conversations you once had. All those beautiful songs and photos and videos you once shared. All those beautiful posts you once wrote. All the comments and discussions which ensued. People really got something out of your output.

Until you deleted it all and left without saying goodbye. Or left with an angry goodbye at the world for not changing and living up to your bizarre standards.

You had fans and followers. Thousands. Maybe even tens of thousands. Who knows where that could’ve snowballed into. You would probably famous by know if you had just stuck with it. There would be a great story on your wall for people who dont know you or those want to reminisce.

You bastard. How could you be so selfish. We really believed in you. We thought you might be the one. Our saviour. The face of love. You sexy beast.

Why didn’t you save us?

I’ll tell you why.
