This is as beautiful as it gets when it comes to the down and out life. There is beauty there. There is poetry there. And nobody is on the level of Fante when it comes to capturing it. Miller and Bukowksi are right up there though… the movie is worth watching too. Can’t wait to read the final installment in the Bandini quartet and would also like to experience his son Dan Fante’s novels, are they any good?
