Good evening people.
I’m looking for some additional musicians to add to my live performances and also to some upcoming recordings. Specifically I’m looking for a cellist, violinist and a few multi-instrumentalists to do different things on different songs (percussion, bass, synth, background vocals, etc). But especially cello. And the multi-instrumentalist(s). That would be fun.
Most importantly I want passionate musicians who play from the heart, not from the head (when performing). Musicians who play like their life is on the line. Like the next note might be the last. Attitude. Enthusiasm. Showmanship. Live performance is a celebration of humanity (the highs and lows), not a math test.
Don’t get me wrong, when I’m practising alone during the day, I’m the biggest nerd in the world. Major OCD. I love practicing. I also hate it at the same time. Evolving as a musician is an infinite journey. It takes guts. And stupidity. And madness. Patience for sure. Practicing itself is a skill; an artform if you will.
But yeah… also it’s important to like the songs. If you’re a musician, play what you love. Don’t waste time on anything else. Nobody wants to hear that.
I experimented with some shows in february with a rock band approach but I honestly didn’t really like doing that. It’s too conventional. Boring. They were good musicians but I just didn’t feel like it was what I wanted. Something was off. Maybe they just weren’t the right musicians for me. (sorry guys). I also think drum sets are ugly. Except when the drummer is super cool like Levon Helm in The Last Waltz (what a genius). Or Steve Gadd in the 80s. Gadd went beyond drumming.
So if you know someone or something, hook us up. Share my songs and lets see what happens. Just thought I’d put out the word on the street. Spread the word.
Btw, I also now have a practice room in old town (where I also live now just around the corner from it). Quite convenient. I might start giving some lessons for extra cash. If you are interested, let me know. Or come down for an audition. I’ll know if you are the right person within 5 minutes.
