Today making music has become something fun to do. It’s like a video game. Even playing an instrument is for many and even some professionals a cool skill to learn, to impress with. To feed the ego that is. Some become good enough to make a living out of it. Anybody can make music now. All you need is a computer and some cool programs. I am not one of those people who think that all modern music is garbage. Most of my favorite bands are from the last 10 years. I think the ratio between music that is good or not good has always been the same. The truth is, i’m not interested in good music any more than I am in crap music. I am only interested in music that is real and deep. Of course it has to be decorated and sugar coated with beautiful and catchy melodies to ever reach me. Someone who can make music with a computer program isn’t necessarily any more soulless/soulful than a virtuoso guitar player nor is the music. That is not what it is about! I have a place inside me that is dead if it is not triggered alive constantly by art be it in any form. Art is life for me. Expressing something that we cannot see or touch or feel or even hear although it may reach us with the help of those senses. For me making music is not just a hobby. My songs are everything to me. I don’t care if anybody likes them. Writing and making music is therapy for me. It is comfort. It is an outlet It is bliss. It is meditation. It is being. Living. I am just a body. A mind. My songs are the real me. They are my best friends. My children. My family. My heart. My soul. My lungs. My blood. My past. My future. My present. My dreams. My fears. My anger. My joy.
