when the world ends

when the world ends
i’m gonna grow up
and watch woody allen movies
listen to tool
walk around mongolia
do all the things i always wanted to do
climb a mountain to conduct
a symphony for the skies
when the world ends
i will be waiting for you there
that old country lane
where we ran and then made love
dreamed of summer
lost in each other
trying not to forget
or depart from this moment
when the world ends
i will think of you
remember you
and as the memories begin to fade
poetry will cascade
songs of love and light
world wandering wonderers
blooming into a new age
when the world ends
the internet will collapse
those left will be outside
dancing to stay warm
singing for the rains
remembering how we used to run
those old country lanes
