Poetry survived
To remind us that
Without death, nothing would be beautiful
For beauty is the feeling
Of a moment dying
Sorrow, joy, fear
Perverted smiles
The melodrama
The theatre
Poets, like wolves
Survive
On puppets who’s strings have been cut
Stranded in the wild
You try to hold on
To something
To someone
But baby you cannot run
Or hide
From me
I see things on empty streets
Before anyone else
Untrampled snow
4am gas stations
Like a movie scene
Murderers driving vans
Wolves gathering
Poetry comes alive
At night
So i try to sleep
Like a sane man
Smile and say kind things
Hide the killer within
Faith in unity
It grips you
When you find it
It takes you
When you fear it
It finds you
And feeds on fear
We are known by many names
Some of us go into other professions
To feel normal
I see you
I know you
We run this world
Not politicians
Poeticians
We cry as earth rain
Breathe as warm breeze
Sing in animal sounds
Wild wolves
Hunting
Playing
Disguised as dogs
And secret lovers
Moments dying
Broken down movie stars
Fall into my arms
Endlessly
