I started this blog at the beginning of this year because I wanted to shed my old skin and begin anew. But of course the ways of the mind are clever. The old patterns creep their way back in. Patterns of thinking eg. justifying addictions and bad habits. I was wrong about some things.
Like porn. It is no good. Masturbation is okay because at least we are using our imagination. Porn is fake and time consuming. I don’t want to be part of that world so I quit it once again.
And food. I have to eat cleaner. Otherwise I will be foggy and lethargic. I have been bingeing on unhealthy food too much this month. Mainly for emotional reasons rather than nutrition. That is something I will improve as the year goes forward. Next month I am quitting sugar.
Having a routine is important. My day will be simple. I know what I have to do. I have been fine tuning this system for years. Regular sleeping hours. Morning routine. Then get to work on my online business for a solid 6 hours. After that I will practise my music skills and go to the gym. The evenings are for rejuvenation.
I have to do this otherwise I will not get to where I want to get to.
But the year has been good so far. I have been chipping away at my mission every day. Yes I could do more but something is better than nothing. I have great ideas. Now I just need to execute.
I’m been binge watching the Vikings series. I’m now starting season 4. I’m honestly not that impressed with the show so far. I think Game of Thrones is better. Vikings is a little too primitive and basic for my tastes. There doesn’t seem to be much plot besides attacking and invading foreign lands. I suppose that’s what they did back in the day.
The show lacks the kind of complexity and ingenuity I like in characters. Although Ragnar’s fake death was pretty cool and some of the darker episodes have been pretty cool visually.
I’m a bit surprised Vikings is so popular. Then again, I guess it goes to show what people are really attracted to. Humans are not rational. Most people are dishonest about their true intentions. We haven’t changed even if our technology is evolving at an blistering pace. That’s what religions and outdated traditions are still practised everywhere. Who knows, maybe my opinion will change by the time I am done with seasons 4 and 5.
I guess I should be asking myself why it is that I am watching a show like this. Am I just like everyone else? I could probably be using all this tv series time more productively. It is another one of those distractions and addictions that i will eventually have to sacrifice.
